Supportive Friend

What to expect during your initial and follow up visit.

- Currently we offer VIRTUAL sessions. NO In person sessions available.

- Sessions last 55 min.

-We offer INDIVIDUAL sessions only, no couples.

-Treatment duration depends on severity and chronicity of symptoms and level of functioning.

During your first visit you will spend approximately 30-55 minutes getting to know your provider and them getting to know you. Follow Up sessions tend to be approximately 55 minutes each time. As in any healthcare office, there is usually a WAIT TIME of approximately 5-15 min for all sessions. The first visit is an opportunity to evaluate if you and your provider are a good match to work together and to learn more about each other. Please keep in mind that the first session is NOT a guarantee or a commitment on any party's part to remain in treatment; it is instead an opportunity to evaluate ability to work together. You may ask your provider questions about treatment or other.

-Please know that you do not have to share in detail any life event or current issue that you do not wish to discuss. Instead, your provider and you will work together during follow up sessions on building trust during sessions and when you are ready, you may share more.

-During your first session the provider and you will discuss diagnosis/diagnostic impression of you or your child, therapeutic goals, and a treatment plan. our provider will also discuss with you tips for you to make the best of your sessions and how to prepare for future meetings.

During follow up sessions you will be asked to provide feedback to your provider about how sessions are going and about treatment as a whole. We welcome and need your feedback to ensure you are getting the best out of your treatment. Please keep in mind your provider and you will work together, and it is a team effort.

We look forward to working with you!

Breaking the stigma about mental health.

--One of our biggest commitments at Mindful Freedom is ending the stigma about mental health treatment. We are committed to helping our clients work through the barriers that prevent them from obtaining the help they need. Often times we are hesitant to reach out for help fearful of judgment, worried about having to engage in uncomfortable conversations. We worry about what others will say now that we are in therapy, we worry about what being in therapy says about us.

--Please know that therapy can be a beautiful journey of self discovery and that only with knowledge about ourselves we reach our true potential. Therapy can be that safe place where you can be yourself and speak freely.

--Anyone can benefit from therapy. Psychotherapy is not only for the severely ill. Therapy is as much for the common population as it is for those who are experiencing severe and chronic psychological symptoms. Many of our clients include doctors, lawyers, and even law enforcement. We all at some point can benefit from supportive therapy. Dont allow stigma to get on the way of the current you and the improved version of yourself!
